How it's calculated
Most categories: a flat rate on the whole sale price. Jewelry is banded like a progressive tax bracket -- each slice of the price is taxed at that slice's own rate. Clothing & Accessories is banded a different way: the entire price is taxed at whichever single band it falls into, with no blending across the breakpoint:
