Etsy Fee Calculator
Calculate Etsy's listing fee, transaction fee, payment processing fee and optional Offsite Ads fee, and see your net proceeds -- or work backward from the net you want to a listing price.
Mandatory once your shop crosses $10,000 in trailing 365-day sales; capped at $100/order either way.
Listing fee

Transaction fee (6.5%)
$2.60
Payment processing
$1.45
Offsite Ads fee
$0.00
Total fees
$4.25
Net proceeds
$35.75
Effective rate
10.6%
How it's calculated
total fees = $0.20 + (order total × 6.5%) + (order total × 3% + $0.25) + Offsite Ads fee
where order total is item price plus the shipping you charge, and the Offsite Ads fee (if it applies) is capped at $100.00 per order.
Worked example
A $35.00 item with $5.00 shipping charged.
| Order total | $40.00 |
| Listing fee | -$0.20 |
| Transaction fee (6.5%) | -$2.60 |
| Payment processing | -$1.45 |
| Net proceeds (Offsite Ads off) | $35.75 |
| Net proceeds if opted into Offsite Ads (15%) | $29.75 |
That's a 10.6% effective rate with Offsite Ads off. Plug the same numbers into the calculator above and it lands on the same result to the penny.
Frequently Asked Questions
What fees does Etsy charge on every sale?
Three fees apply to essentially every Etsy sale: a flat $0.20 listing fee (charged when you list, not per sale, and good for four months or until it sells), a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus the shipping you charge, and (for US sellers using Etsy Payments) a 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee. Is Offsite Ads mandatory?
Only once your shop has made $10,000 or more in any trailing 365-day window -- at that point participation is required, but the rate drops to the discounted 12%. Below that threshold you can opt in voluntarily at 15%, or opt out entirely. Either way, the fee never exceeds $100.00 on a single order, no matter how large the sale. Does the transaction fee apply to shipping I charge?
Yes -- Etsy's 6.5% transaction fee applies to the full amount the buyer pays for the item, including whatever shipping price you set (not what shipping actually costs you), so raising your listed shipping price doesn't dodge the fee.
Why is the listing fee excluded from the reverse-mode math?
The $0.20 listing fee is a flat, one-time cost per listing -- it doesn't scale with the sale price the way the transaction fee, processing fee and Offsite Ads fee do. This calculator's reverse mode (desired net → listing price) adds it back in as a fixed offset on top of the price-scaled fees, the same way it would land on your actual payout.
