Mercari Fee Calculator
Calculate Mercari's flat 10% selling fee and your net proceeds -- or work backward from the net you want to a listing price.
Mercari's 10% fee applies to item price plus any shipping the buyer pays.
Selling fee (10%)

Effective rate
10.0%
How it's calculated
selling fee = (item price + buyer-paid shipping) × 10%
Worked example
A $25.00 item with no separate shipping charge (Mercari's smart pricing/buyer-pays-shipping options both fold into the same calculation).
| Selling fee (10%) | -$2.50 |
| Net proceeds | $22.50 |
That's a 10.0% effective rate -- always exactly 10% on Mercari, since there's no fixed fee or tier to shift it. Plug the same numbers into the calculator above and it matches to the penny.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Mercari charge sellers?
Mercari charges a flat 10% selling fee on the combined item price and any shipping the buyer pays -- that's the only percentage-based cost. Source: Mercari Help Center -- Fees on Mercari (https://www.mercari.com/us/help_center/article/169/), checked 2026-09-17.
Is there still a separate payment processing fee?
No -- Mercari removed the old 2.9% + $0.50 payment processing fee for listings created or updated on or after January 6, 2025. The 10% selling fee is now the complete per-sale percentage cost; listings never updated since before that date may still carry the old structure until touched.
Are there any other Mercari fees to know about?
Yes, though they're outside this calculator's scope because they're not part of every sale: an Instant Pay transfer costs $3.00 (standard bank deposit is free), a cancellation fee of up to 5% (capped at $25) applies if you cancel frequently, and items requiring third-party authentication carry their own separate listing cost.
Does listing on Mercari cost anything upfront?
No -- listing is always free on Mercari. The 10% fee only applies once an item actually sells, which this calculator reflects by only ever computing a fee against a completed sale price.
